This is just a little rant which I wanted to say for a while now, but why are there so little info on indie titles which are coming out. I mean I know that they do not want to spoil everything for gamers and everything else, but I would like to know more about the games themselves. The main examples I am talking about are Yooka-Laylee and Lobodestroyo. I can understand Yooka, but Lobo, I don't know nothing about and they expect me to get hyped for the Rareware- inspired 3D platformer. The only game-play I have seen was just the kickstarter video and that was 2 days ago. I want to see more and its been like 2 years. To get someone hyped, you have to show like monthly video clips, it will let the consumer know that you are working on the project.
Another thing I'll have say are delays. Mighty No 9 has been delayed like 3 times and people are started to get pissed and I do not blame them(especially the backers). They been waiting for the title for almost 2 years and they just want to play the game. The reason for the delay was for multiplayer. As I recall, Mega Man did not have any multiplayer in his series(the first 8), could you just released the game and then have a patch for it later. Then The creator would have the nerve to kick-start another game without even finishing the first one(but it got picked up by someone else). Just finish for first and then go to the next.
Here is a indie game I been real excited about and is inspirational to my work:
Not only is the game a 3D Platformer, but this guy (Dinosaur Bytes) is working on it by himself(BY HIMSELF)!!!! He's worked on this game since 2011, making huge tweaks and improvements and he has come a very long way. If you see his first videos, you will know what I am talking about. He has weekly updates on his Facebook page and monthly video updates. And for a guy whos been working on this by himself, Clive n Wrench looks more graphically impressive then Mighty No. 9( and that's real sad).If you guys have a chance, give Dinosaur Bytes the support and go to his Youtube and Facebook pages. He has a lot more goodies in store.
I am looking forward to all of the indie platformers, despite the delays and the lack of information on some of them. I would like to know more for these titles because I am loving the indie titles more then the AAA ones and that because you can have creative control with your game with out almost on interference and there gave been some phenomenal games.
